Why have I started a nutritional company? Over nine years ago, I was diagnosed with Colon cancer. After which, I was placed on a series of treatments of chemotherapy. After losing over 80 pounds I felt the need to search for other remedies. I decided to search for alternative medicines. I tried every "witches brew" I thought would help. None did!
Many months of soul searching and hundreds of hours of research, I found myself on a plane heading for Macchu Picchu in Peru and then off to the Rainforests of Peru and Brazil. I spent four months in the rainforest in Peru and Brazil. I gained back 35 pounds. While I was in the rainforest, besides drinking Una de Gato tea (Which I drank all day, everyday) and my changes of diet and my willingness not to succumb to the Cancer; I became an other survivor of cancer with the use of alternative medicines.
After leaving the rainforest, I returned to the United States, I had an appointment with my Oncologist and had a colonoscopy, (colonoscopy is an examination testing for polyps, or obstructions or damages that may be found) three polyps were found. These 3 polyps were taken out; a biopsy was performed, and no cancer cells were found.
I was in remission!! Thank you God! I have been in remission over five years. . . Since my cancer has been in remission, I dreamt of going back to the rainforests to bring back the plants from the forests and use natural products as the foundation of my nutritional company.

(Uncaria Tomentosa) Una de Gato or otherwise known as "Cat's Claw", is a vine found wrapped around the trees in the Rainforest of Peru.
|
Historically Una de Gato was used by natives as a tribal medicine for arthritis, gastritis, cancer and other diseases. Recent research indicates that the constituents of Cat's Claw may contain properties that aid the digestive and immune systems.
An isolate of the Una de Gato plant is being used successfully in other countries such as Austria and Germany for the treatment of AIDS and Cancer.
Una de Gato is thought to help those suffering from a variety of stomach and bowel disorders. These disorders include: Crohn's disease, ulcers, gastritis, parasites, diverticulitis, hemorrhoids, leaky bowel syndrome and intestinal flora imbalance.
Indian folklore tells that Una de Gato, also used in the form of tea, has been successful in curing tumors and other known deadly diseases. The Indians of this native land regard Uncaria Tomentosa as a sacred panacea. Spanish labels often recommend Una de Gato for the treatment of cancer, arthritis, gastritis and female hormonal imbalances.
Una de Gato, which grows wild in the highlands of the Peruvian Amazon in South America, is a giant, woody vine that grows more than 100 feet tall. It is a slow growing vine taking 20 or more years to reach maturity. It is called Cat's Claw because the thorns found on the vine closely resemble the claws of a cat.
The bark and roots have been used for hundreds, perhaps thousands of years by the native Ashanica Indians for treatment of a wide variety of health problems associated with the immune and digestive systems. Today, bark (which has all the medicinal properties) from the vine is typically the part used for medicinal purposes and the root is spared in order to avoid killing the plant, so protecting the Amazon Rainforest.
There are many species of Uncaria. Uncaria guinanensis and tomentosa are two common ones native to the jungle regions of Peru, from the Amazonian Basin to the high jungle areas of the province of Junin.
Uncaria tomentosa grows in the foothills, predominantly at altitudes of two to eight thousand feet.
The following in an excerpt from a very close friend of mine, Cesar Barriga, who is a Forest Engineer and a Professor at the University Agraria La Molina in Lima, Peru.
Botanical Name:
- Uncaria tomentosa (Wild) DC
- Uncaria guianensis (Abbl) Gmel.
A brief history about this plant:
The ethnics from the Peruvian central jungle have used this plant since hundreds of years ago. Many colonists (Germans, Italians, Austrians, etc) also used it to solve their health necessities.
In the middle of the 1970s begun important phytochemical research in Austria, Germany and Italy, and in 1980s in Peru. It became a very important plant because its tested effects in treatments of illness such as cancer, arthritis, rheumatism, etc, and because of its capacity to strengthen the immunological system, and for its likely capacity to heal AIDS.
Chemical Composition:
The principal components are several quinovic acid glucosids (8 have been identified) as well as tritepens and polioxinels. Other components are a range of hidrosindoic alcaloids. These include: RINCOFILINE, ISORONCOFILINE, MITRAFILINE, UNCARINE F, HIRSUTIN, ISOMITRAFILINE, PTEROPODINE, SPECIOFILINE, ISOPRODINE, Poliphenoles Flavonics EPICATECINE, and 4 PROCYANIDINES.

Posology:
Boil 20 grams of bark in one liter of water for 20 minutes (water becomes red). The same bark can be boiled up to 3 times. Take this infusion along all day as a beverage. If it tastes too strong to the patient, just dilute it with water or with fruit juices (orange or lemon). No refined sugar or milk products should be added.
Everybody must follow these indications as precautions during the three month period, and must take a thre week break. In extreme caases of ilnss, it is not necessary to take the 3 week break..
Taken in high doses, it can be used as a contraceptive. It is not recommended to pregnant women. People with high blood pressure should take it in lower doses.
Experience In Users:
Many people had very good results after treatment for ulcers, arthritis, rheumatis, prostatis, Recklinghausen and cancer.
Dr. Iaccarino in Italy proved Cat's Claw to a patient from Palermo (a surgeon) who suffered from Immune Complex Syndrome of Connective Tissue. He observed progressive reductions of pains and a greater freedom of movement which led to his patient walking again. Examinations revealed a strong decension of the immune complexes.
Dr. Inchaustegui from the hospital of the Social Security Peruvian Institute in Iquitos (a city in the jungle of Peru) applied Cat's Claw on his patients awho had advanced degrees of AIDS. These were his conclusions:
- Patients infected for several years and that had chronic symptoms improved their health and did not have any more opportunistic diseases.

Maca is valued for its energizing effects and aphrodisiac qualities, the high protein content increase stamina and endurance, boosts sexual potential and enhances memory. Maca is increasing in popularity in Europe and the United States. |
Known as the Peruvian Ginseng, it demonstrates a wide variety of therapeutic qualities. This substantial herb has many medicinal and nutritional qualities. Its root contains a great deal of protein, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals, is rich in sugars, protein starches and essential minerals, especially iodine and iron. With the introduction of chemical products in the marketplace for sexual disfunction, Maca is an excellent natural alternative source for sexual enhancement and sexual disorders.
Peruvian herbalists have used Maca to stimulate the immune system, correct imbalances including in menopause and menstrual disorders, anemia, tuberculosis, stomach cancer, chronic fatigue syndrome, sterility, fertility, other reproductive and sexual disorders and as an alternative source for sexual enhancement.
Grown only in the Peruvian Andes, Maca is a plant cultivated high in the Peruvian Andes. What is fascinating about this plant is that it grows in high altitudes 12-14 thousand feet and endures extreme weather conditions where other plants cannot survive, making Maca the highest and strongest cultivated plant in the world.
In ancient times it was used as an invigorating restorative remedy to combat physical and mental exhaustion. In Inca times, it was taken by men and women as a fertility stimulant and was considered an excellent sexual tonic. The Indian people have used the plant for hundreds of years and still use Maca today as a nutritional food source.
The raw material used to manufacture Maca is cultivated and harvested using traditional agricultural methods.

Maca grows in a region of intense sunlight, winds and below freezing temperatures at 13,000 feet (over 2 miles) above sea level, in the Peruvian Andes Mountains on the Junin Plateau in a place called Cerro de Pasco. Cerro de Pasco is a huge, flat area area and while it may sound like a bad place to farm, Maca has learned to flourish under these harsh growing conditions. The proper cultivation of Maca requires that it grow in soil that has a high, dense mineral content. The Peruvians have learned to maintain this important mineral content in the soil by allowing the growing fields to rest or "lay fallow" for 5-10 years between plantings.
The Maca plant was domesticated about 2,000 years ago by the Inca Indians and primitive cultivars of Maca have been found in archaeological sites dating back as far as 1600 B.C.
Maca As A Food
To the Andean Indians, Maca is a valuable commodity. Because so little else grows in the region, Maca is often traded with communities at lower elevations for other staples like rice, corn, and beans. The dried roots can be stored for up to seven years. Native Peruvians have used Maca since before the time of the Inca's for both nutritional and medicinal purposes.
Maca As A Medicine
Maca has been used medicinally for centuries to enhance fertility in humans and animals. Soon after the Spanish Conquest in South America, the Spanish found that their livestock were reproducing poorly in the highlands. The local Indians recommended feeding the animals Maca and the results were so remarkable that the Spanish chroniclers wrote in-depth reports about Maca . Even Colonial records of some 200 years ago indicate that payments of about 9 tons of Maca were demanded from one Andean area for this purpose.
In 1961 important scientific questions about Maca were answered. Studies found that Maca contains important amounts of fatty acids including linoleic, palmitic and oleic acids. Maca is rich in sterols and has a high mineral content as well. In addition to its rich supply of essential nutrients, Maca contains alkaloids, tannins and saponins. A chemical analysis shows the presence of biologically active aromatic isothiocyanates, especially p-methoxbenzyl isothiocyanate, which have reputed aphrodisiac properties. Analysis of Maca indicates that the effects on fertility are a result of glucosinolates. Dr. Chacon, a Peruvian biologist, discovered the four alkaloids present in Maca that are responsible for Maca 's reputed positive effect on hormonal issues such as hot flashes, memory problems, fatigue, and male and female sexual dysfunction more than forty years ago.
Maca as an anti-aging supplement
Maca has been shown to improve the mental and physical functioning of the older adult. This action is due to the presence of large amounts of naturally occurring nutrients and the adaptogenic qualities of Maca. The hormonal action of Maca minimizes the body's reaction to stress. Stress on the body - from the air, food, relationships and other sources - is the leading cause of illness and debilitation in the world today. Stress accelerates the aging process. Maca promotes the body's ability to adapt to and handle these stresses.
PROCESSING Maca
In order to meet the growing world wide demand for Maca some of the traditional farming and drying methods of this important plant are being bypassed or done in ways that can alter the medicinal and nutritional properties of Maca . While it is important to consider that this severely economically depressed region of Peru benefits from the income being produced by the sale of this plant, it is also wise to question the farming and processing techniques being used by exporters and suppliers of Maca . Maca is best processed if it is sun-dried. This process takes about 4-6 months. The cooking method of drying Maca can change its therapeutic properties.
Testimonials
This product is amazing! I was a little hesitant to try this product at first, but I am so glad I did! It gave me the energy that has been missing for so long. Maca puts me in a great mood every day. I don't like to talk about sex, but I think I am wearing my husband out! Best part about Maca is it is all natural so I can take it every day for as long as I live!"
Anne V. - California
"I have been using the herb for about a month now. I have noticed an increase in energy and harder and more frequent erections during the day and night. My concentration level and energy have also increased dramatically. I used to feel run down and not turned on all the time by my fiancee easily. She doesn't complain anymore because we get intimate several times a night now."
B.M. Roberts - Phoenix, AZ
"I first tried Maca when I was in college. I was taking 19 credits, had two jobs, and had just gotten married. I was feeling very run down and exhausted all the time from not getting enough sleep and not having time to eat right. I saw the Maca ad on Television and decided it was worth a try. Not even coffee could keep me awake anymore. After two days on Maca my energy was greatly increased and my general outlook on life was better. I did not feel as discouraged and overwhelmed by everything I had to do. I continue to take Maca whenever I need a boost in my energy level or when I feel overwhelmed. It really helps me focus and get things accomplished."
Lutea S. - Tempe, AZ
"Wow, what an energy rush! I wasn't expecting much, but after taking only one Maca capsule, I had enough pep to chase my kids, take care of business and errands around town and not forget my husband!"

My own husband is thrilled at the changes he's seen in me. More interest, more often, more pleasure -- and more energy in general. I've been through a really stressful period in my life and my own libido and energy in general were almost completely depleted. This stuff has made all the difference in the world for me. I don't want to embarrass you with additional personal details and hope you don't mind that I've shared this much with you. I just wanted you to know I've tried the stuff and it works.
